CHARRED POETRY BOOK

‘Think of a piece of wood that has been exposed to the flames. You may think of it as damaged – and it’s true it has been burnt and blackened – but it is still resilient, and much stronger after going through this process. Think of me, Andreena Leeanne as a piece of charred wood.’

My debut poetry collection CHARRED A survivor speaks her truth to inspire was published by Team Angelica October 2020 and shortlisted for a Polari First Book Prize in 2021.

In this book i write my truth about sexual abuse, homelessness, mental health, LGBTQ, identity, relationships & love.

It explores with passionate honesty my coming to terms with the many challenges i have faced in my 39 years of life.

This book has been a major part of my healing journey. Ending the secrecy is essential to healing.

By speaking my truth, I hope to inspire and empower others to speak and write their truth.
